Uspium is a extremely rare mineral and was first discovered in the third age. Uspium was discovered by Countess Thalia Valtumal in the elven wood outside River's Mouth. Uspium is said to be a byproduct of the Soul Portal.

Uspium was first discovered when Countess Thalia Valtumal had noticed the soil near River's Mouth had a red tinge. When tests were conducted on the red substance it was found to be a new mineral. Countess Valtumal commenced an excavation of the area and the first Uspium gem was found.
Everyday use
Uspium is gem full of concentrated magic. It can be used to manufacture powerful artifacts. Its common use is to create powerful weaponry.
Manufacturing & Products
Uspium crystals are used to manufacture artifacts. Due to Uspiums naturally large concentration of energy, uspium is not used for everyday artifacts. A small device would not be strong enough to harness the energy of an uspium crystal. Uspium dust can not be used to manufacture products. When an Uspium crystal is formed, it is accompanied by a large implosion of energy. Uspium Dust is created during the aftershock of the implosion and itself has no magical properties.
