Giants

Some giant-like people roam Umbaron. The most common is the Tallmen of northern Alandor, claiming the Wild Islands as their home, escaping the influence of the Kingdom. Further north, on the mainland of the Alandor continent, lives wilder tribes formed by loose groups of ogres and trolls. Some tallmen have dealings with the more brutish giant-kin, and they have been known to cooperate.
Regarding the mythical true giants, not much is known. The myth speaks of ancient days when they roamed Umbaron. They were the rulers of the north, and sworn enemies of the dragons. A horrendous war sparked between them, and escalated to the point where it threatened to destroy Umbaron itself. The gods—who had watched with great interest—decided to interfere. They banished and destroyed the giants and the dragons from the material realm, and since these ancient days, they have not been seen in Umbaron.
