Vale Elf

The Vale Elves of Alandor are settled predominantly in Lily Vale. According to history, they come from a place called the Fey Wild (or Alfheim in Norse) and they believe that the Lily Vale forest holds a connection to it.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

Because of their long lifespan, a young elf that is killed is a waste of incredible potential, and an old elf that is killed is a waste of the same amount of life experience. Therefore the elves value protection of life very highly, extending to life in general and not only their own.

Common Etiquette rules

Even if an elf doesn't like you, they will try to be hospitable and pleasant to interact with. They are however very protective of their own interests, so if you cross the line, they will retaliate viciously.   Some people like to spread rumors, perhaps out of jealousy, that elves are unreliable two-faced tricksters, which could be based on them not showing their true feelings about you. There are also rumors that they have secret cannibal traditions.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Their strong connection with nature magic often leads them to take up druidic traditions, and the Alandor settlements are governed by the Lily Vale Druid Collective.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Elves are a beautiful people not only in visual appearance, but also in manners and aesthetics.   An elf will not tell you that they despise you, but will instead try to be hospitable and pleasant to interact with. They have a prominent culture of musicians and dramatic story-tellers.   Elven tools, clothing, and architecture often have intricate visual design, and may sometimes have more focus on beauty than function.
