Eltabbar

Eltabbar is the largest city in the city-state of Falskaar. It lies at the base of the mountains surrounding the city. The city consists mainly of wooden houses and small shops lining narrow streets. There are several large buildings in the center of town, including the temple of Al'Akir, the palace of the king, and the royal library.   A second set of gates surrounds the city, just outside the first set. These gates are guarded by soldiers from the city guard. Once inside the gates, visitors can see the market square, which holds stalls selling food and wares. In the middle of the square is a fountain with a statue of Al'Akir. On either side of the square are the city hall and the palace. Both buildings are made of wood, and both are decorated with carvings of animals and plants.   The city of Eltabbar was founded by the elves of Falskaar. They came here after being driven out of their homeland by the humans. The elves of Falskaar settled near a deep river gorge, where they could easily defend themselves against attacks from other races. Over time, the elves began building up the area around the gorge. Eventually, they had enough space to build their city.   The elves of Falskaar believe that they are descended from the gods. They revere Al'Akir as their god, and they hold him in high esteem. All elves in Falskaar are considered to be descendants of the elves who lived here thousands of years ago.   Elves live in harmony with nature. They keep their cities clean and well maintained, and they tend to their gardens. They are skilled craftsmen and artists, and they make beautiful works of art using natural materials. Elves do not use metal tools, because they feel that such things are unnatural. Instead, they carve their tools from wood, bone, or stone.   The elves of Falskaar are peaceful and law abiding. If someone breaks a law, the elf will go to the city council and ask for punishment to be meted out. The council members then decide what penalty should be given. Punishments range from fines to exile.   The elves of Falskaar are very protective of their city. They are quick to defend it against any threat, whether from other races or from within the city itself.
