Kandersteg

The capital city of Zangaria, Kandersteg, is located at the base of Mount Kandersteg. It's surrounded by a wall which protects the citizens from hostile attacks and from Mount Kandersteg itself. Inside the walls, there are several districts. Most of them are residential areas, though some contain shops and markets. There's also a large temple dedicated to the god of fire. The temple is guarded by shaman priests who serve the god.
The main street leading into the city is lined with shops selling various goods. There are also inns and taverns where travelers can stay.
A large market takes place every day outside the gates of the city. Here, merchants sell all sorts of items including food, weapons, armor, and horses. This market is open to anyone, even non-citizens.
Mount Kandersteg looms over the entire city. Its peak is covered in snow year round. At night, the mountain glows red from the lava flowing inside.
The city has its own guard force consisting of warriors and shamans. These guards patrol the streets and protect the city from invaders.
There are no official rulers in Zangaria. Instead, the people elect a council of elders to make decisions for the whole country. The council meets regularly to discuss important matters.
The most powerful person in the country is the High Priest of the Temple of Fire. He serves as the leader of the council and makes most of the important decisions.
