Sancrist

Sancrist is a prosperous, dwarf run kingdom at the base of the mountain range in northern Delia. It's known as "the City of Gold" due to the abundance of gold mines found there. The dwarves who live there have developed a unique culture of their own, including their own alphabet and writing system. As a result, they tend to be more reserved than most humans. Dwarves also have an affinity for alcohol, and many of them are quite skilled at brewing it.   Sancrist is ruled by King Aedelas Ironfist, who rules over the entire dwarven population of the area. He was raised by his mother after his father died when he was young. His mother taught him how to read and write, and she instilled in him the importance of education. After her death, he became king of Sancrist. He took his mother's teachings to heart, and he makes sure that all of his subjects receive an education. In addition, he provides free schooling for all children in the kingdom.   The dwarven population of Sancrist lives in harmony with the rest of the human population. Most of the dwarves work in the mines, but others serve as merchants, craftsmen, or even soldiers.   Sancrist is a relatively safe place to live, especially compared to some of the other places in Delia. Sancrist largely keep to themselves but lately there are fears of getting caught in a war between the Humans of Alshar and the Elves of Falskaar. This would mean that the dwarves would need to take sides. While they could easily join either side, they fear being seen as traitors if they choose one side over another. They do not want to lose their neutrality, which is why they've chosen to remain neutral.   They're also concerned about the growing number of monsters in the area. Recently, a large group of trolls attacked the city, killing several dwarves. This incident caused the dwarves to become very cautious outside of the city, fearing that they might be attacked again.   There's also the issue of the growing number of goblin raids into the city. These attacks have increased dramatically since the beginning of the year, and the dwarves are worried that they'll soon be overrun.   In addition, the dwarves are concerned about the growing influence of the elves in the region. Many believe that the elves are trying to control the dwarven population through bribery and intimidation.   Finally, the dwarves are concerned about the lack of trade with the other kingdoms. For centuries, the dwarves were isolated from the rest of the world because of the mountains. Now that they can travel freely, they'd like to start trading with the other nations. However, they don't know how to go about doing so.   The dwarves of Sancrist have been working hard to find solutions to these problems. They hope that by coming together and sharing ideas, they can come up with a solution that works for everyone.   One day, the dwarves will be forced to defend themselves from the orcs, goblins, and other monsters that infest the surrounding lands. Until then, however, Sancrist remains a peaceful haven for those seeking refuge from the dangers of the outside world.
