Lynir's Fozovvi (Lyn'r fɔˈʦovvi)
Lynir's Death
The dagger that is used in various versions of The Death of Lynir myth that is used to killed Lynir in the myth. It believed to currently belong to Qaydith Lynir's Uncle.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The dagger has a sharp blade that is used for slashing and stabbing to kill painlessly or agonizingly. The myths don't state whether or not the dagger is enchanted but the fact that belongs to the Fa Geinn gods makes it likely that it is.
History
This mythical dagger is believed to belong to Qaydith the Lord of Domination and has been used to only kill his nephew Lynir Qaydith's Fourth Constort. The dagger is mentioned in a few religious texts about Fa Geinn such as The Word Of Desires and the Guide to the Gloom Way.
There is some conflict in the texts as the Guide to the Gloom Way states that Tialímin the Guide to the Dead and father of Lynir owns the dagger and even uses it to kill Lynir after casting Peaceful Sleep on him to make sure that he can't be resurrected with Necromancy. This is because The Death of Lynir myth is in both texts but the myth ends differently in each. Either way, the dagger is used by a different god to kill Lynir and scholars debate if there is any deeper meaning to the dagger.
Significance
This is a weapon for the Fa Geinn gods and is either used by Qaydith or his brother Tialímin. Due to this those that follow Ci Scá Múnt honor the dagger as a divine weapon that can only be used by the gods to kill another god. In the myth The Death of Lynir the dagger was used to kill Lynir the God of Rebirth meaning that the his death is not usually permanent.
