The Siege of Nyiltokti Valley

"Do you think it is funny to mock the flight in front of me? I stood at the edge of death looking over the valley that surrounded the city waiting for my turn to jump. When I did a trerchts knof clutched at me and ripped my wing off. By mocking the flight you mock everyone who died to save this valley so you could complain about it thousands of years later!" Bridtrerchier snapped at Najel causing the whole bar to go silent.
The Siege of Nyiltokti Valley was the final battle in the Great Dragon Wars. The cause of the war was that once the Miylian Elders were either wiped out, went into hiding, or left the dragons were left with a nearly empty world. Up to this point, the dragons had been working together almost peacefully while tending to the portals.   The Great Dragon War started when dragons started to open unstable portals around Miyla. This started to cause weird magical weather that was bothering all of the dragons. The leaders of each flight went to the highest mountain to talk about the portals. Once there the leaders started to vainly accuse each other of the problem instead of fixing it.   During the course of the war, there were a lot of peace talks that didn't go anywhere. At one of these peace talks, a Black Dragon mocked the brittle White Flight. He said that the White Flight would be crushed under the weight of the Black Wing Army. He said this while he was about to pen his name to the Black and White Treaty. The White Flight was so offended that they choose to take the Black Dragon's challenge. The White Flight went back to their country and that was that for a while.

Historical Significance

The Siege of Nyiltokti Valley would never have happened if a Black Wing Army General didn't insult a White Flight diplomat. The General had a deep hatred for the White Flight. In order to keep the war going, he insulted the diplomat as the treaty was about to be signed. This was a surprise to all of the flight, including the Black Flight.
