Amputee
Amputation is the process of having a limb removed, specifically surgically or requiring of surgical cutting, stitching, and other medical processes as to heal over a stump where a limb or other appendage once was. An amputee has had an appendage removed and as such has to deal with the disability that causes, both mentally and physically, no matter the means or reasoning behind the amputation– no matter the scale, the decision or lack there of, or the necessity, the person impeded faces the difficulty of getting used to life without the flesh and bone limb and it's ability. The amputee will likely grapple with the hardships of ghost sensation, lack of sensation, lack of ability, disability towards two handed devices and sensations, and potentially grief as it relates to lacking what they know and expect to have.
Amputation can be accommodated by prosthesis, and occasionally by arcane means, to help the effected person. Arcane Prosthetics can be very coveted, as they are rare, take much skill, arcane knowledge, and precision to make and sometimes harbor abilities beyond those of a typical prosthetic, such as magical enhancement of abilities or the ability to cast spells and so on and so forth. A common, non-magical prosthetic can be functional if it is advanced enough for certain purposes and abilities the user would have had prior to losing their appendage, but sometimes is simply for aesthetic purposes.
