Undersea

The Ocean World is a vast, mysterious place with life in every conceivable place. In the sunny coasts to tropical island paradises to even the darkest depths where no light can go, life in all its glory is abundant. Here, Merfolk live, work, play and thrive in great cities powered by seemingly magical energy. However, it is not all perfect: the creatures of the deep are often wild and unpredictable, some so massive and terrifying they can wipe out an entire community in one day.   "Merboys" is a Fantasy Adventure comic that takes place primarily underwater. Timeline wise it is set in a condensed version of the 19th century. Humankind, in general, are unaware of the cities and nations of Merfolk that can be found all over the world. This separation is mainly as a deterrent to war and killing as both seem to distrust each other. The world below the waves typically keeps to its own affairs with little to no contact with the human world.   Two centuries ago, a great war raged between the Mermish Nations. No one can remember why or how it started, but the cataclysm left a legacy of destruction and chaos in its wake. When the conflict finally came to an end, many of the nations were left in ruin, some being outright hunted to extinction. To prevent this from happening again, an Alliance of Nations was formed. From the ashes of the war rose "The United Republic of World Oceans," which seeks to unite the world under a banner of democracy and peace.   Not all nations are members. Some are outright hostile to it, wishing to bring about its end and to reignite the great wars once again.   As the Oceans of the world are vast and wide, there are countless thousands of Cities, towns, peoples, and stories to be found. It is a world of wonder, discovery, and adventure as well as a world of death, danger, and darkness.
