Unhappy Endings

A tortured orphan searches the dangerous world outside their village to find out what caused the magical explosion that destroyed their home, but something in the Darkness is after them...and it looks like someone they know.

        The story follows the orphan Veronika. Veronika is from a small village known as Murkwell, trapped in an abusive household, Veronika sees no way out. Their 'father' is the village Healer, who performs magical experiments and sexually abuses Veronika each night. He uses magic to wipe their memory.   Things change when Veronika regains their memories and awakens during one of the experimental sessions. In a fit of rage and panic, Veronika uses their own magic to fight Javek and kills him. A magical explosion caused by these events also destroys the town of Murkwell. Veronika must travel through the dangerous Darkness to find answers about what happened that night.   Will have themes of addiction in magical use, abuse, trauma, and mental health.
