While the party was trying to determine where Sainav Maginor went, a dwarf appeared and provided some guidance. He looks worn down, battle weary, and tired, but his attitude and demeanor don't give the same impression. He claims to be a member of the Uniterra Protectors and said that some wards had alerted them to the presence of people around a nearby Proterran tomb. This tomb housed a powerful amulet which could be used to bring about great destruction if used. The largest volcano on Uniterra, Mount Ashstorm in the Uzmesh Wastelands was created by one of these amulets, he says.
He explained that the The Porto Mortem, otherwise known as the Deathrooms, are a cult of Spore Druids who believe strongly in a life and death cycle, and that Uniterra is due for an era of death. They haven't been a problem until now. It's not clear why they would want the amulet, the location of the obelisk required to use it was never found. Furthermore, a sickness or rot has been spreading south, south west from their last known location in the Barren Hills.
There was a recent attack on Stonewood with reports suggesting undead, among other strange creatures, were involved. The attacks were preceded by a growing fog and vegetation withering, then dying off. The attacks only came at night and while they were able to fend them off for some time, they were ultimately overwhelmed. Survivors have fled south to Ravencrest.
He provided a sending stone and said if they wish to help, he will contact them when he has more information about what is going on.
Before departing, he requested they stop by the village of Midna and warn them of the coming danger. They are close to the path the rot is taking south and it may not be long before they too are under siege.
