Lanaegii

Lanaegii are a large sub-species of sheep residing solely on the Eastern Celean Empire island of Saaepima.

Farming

Unlike other species of sheep and goat, lanaegii only produce wool. Their wool, however, is one of the most valuable resources in all of Puraesti, if not the world. This makes it incredibly worthwhile to farm them despite the difficulty in ensuring a stable care environment.

Envronment

All breeding, raising, and farming takes place on Saaepima. This is because the unique environment needed to care for lanaegii can only be obtained on the island.
The grasses, fruit and vegetables that they feed on need to be grown under extremely specific conditions, otherwise their growth will be stunted and, if left unchecked, they will most likely die. On top of this, if even the smallest parameter is off, the farmed wool will degrade in quality. In some cases this degradation has made the wool unusable.

Wool

Lanaegii wool is naturally imbued with a unique and inimitable form of magic. This magic makes the wool near impenetrable under most circumstances. To even shear lanaegii, the wool must be sheared using tools made of lunerale under a clear moonlit sky.
Products made of this wool, namely clothing, are more resilient to damage than all other cloths and a sizable amount of mineral-based armor.

Usage

Making clothing purely out of lanaegii wool is extremely uncommon. Often times garments will have a lanaegii wool content 10% or less. This ensures that the cloth is sturdy without dramatically increasing its price. Most of the clothing produced in the Celean Empire is made like this.
Soldiers, however, are supplied with clothing made of 70% or more lanaegii wool. This is both cost effective, as the fabric will survive many more battles than usual, and lifesaving. Many, many people have owed their survival, especially during close-combat situations, to high content lanaegii clothes.
