Festival of the Hunt

Annual festival held in Ebonmere in celebration of the town surviving the terrible plague that ravaged it 5 years ago, as well as to honor the hunters who provide food for the town, meat for the famed Blood Boar Stew.

History

5 years ago the town of Ebonmere was ravaged by the Sleeping Death plague taking 2/3rds of it's population to the grave.

Desperate to save his wife Hector tried everything from charms and prayers to incantations and eventually the recipe for the Blood Boar Stew that seemed to boost the vitality of those who ate it allowing them to shake off the disease and recover. Unfortunately he was too late to save Ezabell.

To mark the town's survival, and to honor the hunters who provide the meat for the stew that sustains the town to this day, the residents of Ebonmere hold the annual Festival of the Hunt.

Execution

The Festival is a 3 day event with games and contests that culminates in the Great Hunt, a contest that pits parties against each other to see who can bag the biggest boar for the feast.

Residents of Ebonmere and festival goers from out of town.

Observance

The festival begins on the 17th day of the 4th month and ends with the feast following the great hunt on the 3rd day of the festival.
