Fairy Mound

Fairy mounds, fairy hills or fairy forts have since old times been said to be the homes of fairies, or portals to the Otherworld.
Little did people know that this in several cases was - and still is - true.

Purpose / Function

These mounds are set to cover as well as hold a portal into Otherworld. In most cases they lead to a safe haven in form of a fae city.

Architecture

In most cases these appear as naturally occuring rounded mounds projecting up in the landscape.
In some cases there are stone circles or ruins in, on or around them.
