Ceres terraforming disaster speech

It is my unfortunate duty to inform the population of the solar system, including the remaining population of Ceres, that a routine operation to finish terraforming on the innermost dwarf planet has ended in the loss of base 24.   The terraformers knew that there was a degree of risk involved in their job, and were brave to carry out their job up until the end. The whole of humanity will mourn for them.   This is the first time in history that a terraforming attempt has ended this badly, however it isn't the first terraforming based accident, and by no means is it the first accident in space.   But we must remember that when they layed down their life, they layed it down for our children, whom we have promised to give a green solar system to. They have united us as a whole pupulation in a way that we have been united together as since the days of the Martian terraforming, and even as far back as the first moon landings, two hundred years ago today.   Over two centuries we have acheived more than anyone would have believed we could achieve and whilst I promise that our descendants will live in a fully terraformed solar system this accident has forced us to re-evaluate terraforming. With our current technology we will not be able to terraform Mercury or Ceres. We will try to terraform these planets, but we will not rush terraforming processes based on other planets and planemos.   Venusian terraforming will continue to go ahead, albeit at a slower pase. We estimate that terraforming shall be finished in roughly 400 years.
