Shadowvein

Shadowvein is a rare, dark-hued mineral that is only found in the deepest and most treacherous mountain peaks, where few dare to venture. Its appearance is both mesmerizing and ominous, with streaks of deep purple and black running through its core. When exposed to light, it seems to absorb it, leaving an unsettling feeling in those who gaze upon it.

Material Characteristics

Shadowvein is a jagged red crystal with streaks of purple and black along its core

Physical & Chemical Properties

Exceptional Hardness and Sharpness: Weapons crafted from Shadowvein have an unparalleled sharpness and hardness. They can easily cut through even the toughest of materials, making them devastating in battle. Shadowsong: When wielded, the weapons produce an eerie, haunting sound that seems to resonate from the depths of the mountains. This sound can both terrify enemies and unnervingly amplify the wielder's battle lust.   Corrupting Influence: The more a person wields Shadowvein weapons, the more they become susceptible to its corrupting influence. At first, it may be subtle—a lingering sense of unease, dark thoughts creeping into the mind. However, with prolonged exposure, the wielder's personality and morals start to erode.   Hunger for Power: As the wielder succumbs to the corruption, they develop an insatiable hunger for power and dominance. The thirst for victory and conquest becomes all-consuming, driving them to increasingly dangerous and ruthless actions.   Tainted Aura: The corruption of Shadowvein manifests physically, too. The wielder's eyes may begin to glow with an unsettling purple hue, and shadows seem to cling to them, even in the brightest of places.   Difficult to Resist: The lure of Shadowvein's power makes it challenging for wielders to voluntarily part with their weapons. The longer they hold onto it, the deeper the corruption seeps into their soul, making them fiercely protective of it.   Curse of Abandonment: If a wielder is somehow separated from their Shadowvein weapon, they suffer withdrawal-like symptoms, experiencing nightmares, paranoia, and even physical weakness until they regain possession.

Due to Shadowvein's supernatural properties, some individuals of a darker bend would use Shadowvein as a material for weapons, it can be used to devastating effect but also has a corrupting nature.
