Dream of Sin'nak (Sky)

Mages of the Dream of the Sky are born under the Phoenix of New Year, located in the northern hemisphere during December and early January, making it one of the less common Dreams in use.

Effect

Sin'nak has a number of uses on its own, but can also be used in conjunction with multiple other Dreams. Mages can pull air from one region to another, creating rain or storm clouds, and with a bit more power, lightning storms. This is easier with the help of other Dreams such as Kan'in (Ice), as they can cool the air before the Sin'nak mage moves it around, since the Sky mage cannot alter the air itself, only move and shape it.
It's this moving of air however that allows Sky mages to preform their most desired magical feats: Shields. The compression of air to the point where it becomes a solid barrier against objects. This can be done of a individual level, or, with enough Sin'nak adepts, an army wide level.

Side/Secondary Effects

All Sin'nak uses require some degree of breath control by its mages, as even they are not free from the sense of breathlessness brought about by the moving of air, meaning they often have to hold their breath for long periods of time, or breath in time with their casting necessitating an active lifestyle. One that cannot be upheld as the Dream takes it toll on their bodies, ageing and weakening their bodies until it is no longer safe for them to cast anything, even while they can still draw power.

Manifestation

When creating a shield using Sin'nak, there are a number of tell tail signs that cannot be hidden, especially as the scale increases. The most noteworthy is a sense of breathlessness by those around the mage due to air being pulled away momentarily, creating a sort of vacuum before air further out fills the void. More skilled adepts can reduce this effect with better control, not pulling the air out of their allies lungs for instance, though it will still be felt. Army wide is even more difficult, with troops being told to hold their breath and pinch their noses while the shield is erected in front of their battle-line. What would then follow is a sustained bombardment from both sides to destroy one anothers shields, and do as much damage to the army within before the two sides meet.
Similar to shields is how a Sky mage can "fly", creating a solid set of stairs or paths for them to walk on in the air, or powerful winds to make themselves float in one place, with another shield guarding their face of course so they do not look a fool.
Such winds can be directed at their enemies, tearing through ranks, lifting people into the air only to drop them back to earth, perhaps with a little push down as well, or even intentionally ripping the air from their lungs and suffocating single or large groups of people.

Source

Sin'nak is said to have the most beautiful sky: a low, deep blue/purple roof, lit up by small glowing clouds that resemble stars. The ground geography however almost looks as if it's not there. Near flat in all directions and just as featureless, mages say it looks as if a painter put all there effort into painting a sky, and forgot, or left the land blank on the canvas.
