Castrix
"Most people don't care about spell slingers, but honestly? I've been fighting for this title since I was old enough to file for my license - now that I've won it, I want to hear it from every pair of lips that utters my name."
Requirements
Qualifications needed to attempt winning this title are:
- Registration with the Society of American Spell Slingers
- Tourney fee of $200 paid
- An up-to-date spell castor license which will not expire during the tourney (if it is set to expire during that time frame, and exception will be made to add 7 days so that the license may be renewed up to a week after the tourney ends).
- A registered wand
- A "clean" registration
Appointment
Only one person per year may be given the title of Castrix. They are the winner of the Spell Slinger Tourney, and have successfully defended themselves from taking enough offensive spells to eliminate themselves from the Tourney while also gaining enough points while hitting other targets with offensive spells so that they are removed from the Tourney first.
Duties
The only duty a Castrix has is to make sure that they continue to keep a clean record. If a previous Castrix commits an illegal activity (and is caught doing so)
Benefits
Most of the benefits of a Castrix are political, and more for the organization than for the person (as spell slinging is seen, at best, as a "nerdy" and at worst as "violent.") However, there is a $1,000 monetary reward at the end of the tourney, and the are seen by other members of the community as a role model and person to look up to.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
A Castrix may have their title revoked, publicly, if they are caught doing something "uncommonly illegal." The words in the contract also have quotation marks since there is a moving line that shouldn't be crossed, however, it's been agreed upon, that "small" illegal activities such as parking illegally, speeding, etc. (i.e. what an "average" person does) would not result in removal or dismissal. However, if the activity is in the public eye (speeding, crashing, and the result being death or serious injury, etc.) then the organization has the right to remove the tile. If the activity is in the public eye, then the removal will also be in the public eye; however, if the organization learns of the action in a hidden way, such as bragging about the deed being committed, or overhearing another person talking about it. In this case, the removal will be made "public" to other members of the association, but it would not be as public as it would have been otherwise.
