Blindhone Monnack

Monnacks are isolated communities who seek a quiet life away from the more desperate lives found in the world. They do not worship gods nor any other divinity. Here a small vgroup of homesteaders formed around a locally famous Monnack House. The fourteen monks there are blind and all expert grinders of shears and blades. They famously trade for foods and provisions with villagers or simple coins for those who aren't able to travel and bring in the desired goods for barter. There are no better cutlers in the region. Kings and lords send their swords to be sharpened here.
People say that the monk Di'o'neye's work is so masterful, that the first strike by a blade he has maintained, always strikes its mark. A dwarf once traveled to him to sharpen a spear-like weapon. The surface of it was said to shine like a mirror with carved runes that had been filled with mythrall It was a bolt for a ballista and designed for one use, to fell a dragon. The elder red dragon, Bozborrinnon, had taken up in the city of Nerth, some distance south of here. It was felled by a silver bolt that shone like the sun as it flew through the air. The tale is known as the Ghost of the Dragonslayer because no one found anyone operating the ballista. None ever came forward to claim the victory.
Monnack House is an old manor house at the edge of a small pond. Most of the small houses of the village hug the water's edge. Most are shepherds and farmers.
