Stickwoods Pyre

An ancient forest long ago turned to stone. Here the black and ashen corpses of trees continue to stand, their treetops shredded and fallen into sticks on the ash and oily ground. Fires start here regularly and the area is often smoky. The area is warmer than it should be in winter and at night, and colder than it should be during summer and warm days. This results in regular fogs both day and night. Fire relight spontaneously amongst them, despite having no significant wood to burn. The grounds around Stickwoods are barren and have been burned in the distant past by fires within, or intentional ones to keep the fires contained. But the stench of smoke is always around. While no one lives in Stickwoods, there are always rumors of monsters.
