Uskara (Sixth World) A world of Baroque fantasy.
Uskara is an inverted world of nested spheres, its heart a burning celestial sun. It is a world of high fantasy and a cyclical history, where each era of history is brought low by Apocalypse, and a new World is built upon the ashes of the old one. Good and Evil are active agents, separate from divinity, whose influence wax and wane through each turning. This is the story of the Sixth World, a Time of Faith, when the New Gods have built new churches and institutions to enact their Law upon the world.
Yet one malefactor denied his due in the Heavens plots to arise again, and it is in the secluded backwater of Talingarde, once the site of a bloody conflict to assault the stars by infernal forces. Here, as in other corners of the world, Good has taken root and created a land of great peace, prosperity... boredom, and stagnation. The people are happy, but ambition gutters and the world seems to be leaving the Talireans behind. None suspect the sinister plot decades in the making that soon shall crescendo with the escape of five prisoners from the fortress of Branderscar, the most secure gaol in the Six Realms.
