The Alshain were a technologically advanced humanoid species native to the planet Alshain IV.
History
The Alshain were a mostly insular people and while they did trade with the Federation they were not members. As their biology was heavily influenced by Alshain IV's unique magnetic field it was difficult but not impossible for them to leave the planet.
Biology
The Alshain possessed white skin, hair, and eyes, and had a series of raised lines on their faces. They lived in close association with a species of bioluminescent butterfly, which they could summon to form masks and wings that enabled them to fly. While in the air, they relied upon their planet's magnetic field to navigate, akin to Earth birds. Alshain communicated non-verbally among themselves.
Society & Culture
The Alshain were led by an emperor whose family line has governed the Alshain for thousands of years. The Alshain were strictly herbivores and considered the consumption of meat to be disgusting and offensive which limited their exposure to the rest of the galaxy.
