Liminal Plane

The Liminal Plane is one of the transitive planes of existence, alongside the Astral Sea and the Ethereal Plane. It is sometimes referred to by holy texts as "the space between" or "the waiting room", as this is the place where the vast majority of mortal (humanoid) souls go immediately following their death.   The space is ruled by the ferrywoman Vanth, a four-armed Celestial with skin of brass and regal wings. She is the one who stewards mortals from Uthilith (or wherever they had fallen) to a plane of existence marked by one of the Pantheon that claimed them. This is also where souls - primarily of adventurers, but it includes all creatures who have unfinished business and reason to believe that they may be resurrected within the next ten mortal days - temporarily reside before moving to their planes of eternal rest.

Manifestation

“You close your eyes one last time as the pain begins to subside, enveloping you into a comforting darkness. For a brief moment, it’s as if you no longer exist - merely a wisp floating amidst a beautiful void.

Your eyes flutter open after an indeterminate amount of time. Seconds? Years? Time is of no consequence here.

You sit, crosslegged, on what appears to be an ornate prayer rug. The design seems to be rather Elvish (probably Sun Elf), though the intricate symbolism of their specific deities seems to be foregone in favor of a diagram of the Great Wheel itself.

You look around to see columns and arches, extending for what seems like forever. They all seem to be patterned with the same golden embossment atop black marble. What would you like to do?
