Cherish Lavingé (lav-in-yay)
Next evil countess after her great-grandfather Ádio Lavingé. Came to the throne under mysterious circumstances. Had inexorable ties to Rerya and several families there. Even some dwarves are said to have gifted her a chest of mithril to celebrate her ascension; the dwarves have never gifted anyone a chest of mithril.
She often held balls and dinners for her friends and foreign delegates. She is said to have a charm about her, though she was repulsed by the idea of intimacy. Cherish wandered the grounds of the great house, staying in the gardens and praying before shrines to the various gods she loved. She did not trust or entertain priests or clerics, thinking them all charlatans out to swindle her. She was very aware of her great-grandfathers reign and his legacy. She attempted to destroy the evil chair but something always held her back.
Her frivolous spending of funds led to hardship. The county threatened to rebel if the were not fed and taxes eased. She turned a deaf ear to their plight. The mob, led by Farmer Juhn, gathered many members and marched to Bypass. Several of the members were veterans. Bypass produces some of the best soldiers, so the force quickly became formidable.
Only when they arrived at the gates did Cherish quite unexpectedly stand before them and allowed access to her storehouse and signed a paper to reduce taxes. A small minority of the mob tried to riot, feeling the proverbial rug pulled out from under them, but the guards were right there to quash any outbursts.
Cherish became a recluse, refusing conversating with more than two people at once and only staying at her now-infrequent parties for a short while. Many thought she felt sorry for all she'd done, but others couldn't give her any hope.
