Gold Lord's Consort

The Gold Lord requires constant vigilance from fear of assassination or treachery. The Gold Lord's wife has always taken this position, keeping her husband safe from harm while he reigns. She is held as esteemed as him.

Once chosen for her role she is conscripted into training regimens for several hours a day. These regimens are difficult but after a few years she is on par with seasoned veterans. The Golden Escort receives special armaments based on her best skilled fighting style. She remains steadfast. Most importantly, though, she offers protection and complete devotion.

Qualifications

Must be an experienced vashmanu (swordstress), have superb cognitive awareness, and boast magical prowess.

Requirements

The Consort Elect must complete the training regimen appointed to her. She will already be used to training and exerting herself physically, but this shall be an overhaul in training. After the intensive training for two years she is considered graduated to Consort.

Appointment

The women of the vashmanu are selected by their captains and trainers to be candidates. The Gold Lord then selects among these.

Duties

While Golden Consort, she must behave in a way that is befitting of her station: she must be thoughtful in her endeavors, guide fairly, have an keen mind for persecution, and be steadfast to the Gold Lord.

Responsibilities

Whereas the Gold Lord is king, his Consort is general. While he represents the country, she represents its arms and swords. She directs the armies either directly or indirectly. She maintains funding for the armies.

Cultural Significance

To be a Consort is the highest ideal for any woman in the society. Woman are often raised to desire this position, if they are willing. They are told it brings great honor upon their family, and the deities above will smile down upon them.
