Human
Humans are by far the most prolific, complex, and widespread of the species. They are quick to build, live, and die. Their empires may not last as long as several elven or dwarven ones but their resilient ability to adapt is their strongest trait. They are respected as being indominable when pushed to their limit.
History
Pre-Revelation
Humans had lived in close-knit communities of less than a dozen families for millennia until their spark was gone. They wandered the longest of all the species, receiving their revelation last. The Raptured humans knew their purpose of coexisting in the world with others, focusing on survival in all climates and environments. They set right to work doing this.Revelation
The humans spread like wildfire, establishing themselves in good places where no others had yet. Their tenacity won over many who were skeptical of these newly Raptured people. Within a few generations the humans had developed technology or survival skills unlike the others, and used writing to distribute these ideas to and tips to others. Eventually they inhabited every land in some notable capacity, and flourished, unexpectedly to the other species.Conflict
Ironically, wars and conflict have defined humans almost as much as survival. Many attribute this to an insecurity in their last place in the revelation species. In the early days of being Raptured, some felt a need to assert themselves as not weak or powerless, and so, battled amongst each other. Factions rose between each other on any number of reasons, and the temperamental leaders sought blood.Deific Guidance
Clerics and priests urged an advocacy to Pelor, Chauntea, and other deities, vying for peace. People heard their words and slowly became peaceable. It took priests and once an avatar of Pelor to condemn their actions and bring them back to a place of peace.Current
Although conflicts still arise and wars are still fought, currently humans occupy every land and not a more solid individual can one find than a typical human.Religion
Humans are polytheists. The preferred deities are either Pelor or Chauntea. Since humans are the most versatile species, the deities have no qualms about their worship.Ethnicities
Since they became so prolific, the humans quickly developed ethnicities that are different than the subspecies of the others. These ethnicities are not different in ability like a wood elf and a high elf, but differences in culture, dialect, food, and tradition. Their proliferation caused their language to be called "common", and it's almost every other species' second or third language.Naming Traditions
Human names vary depending on region, time period, and other factors. Some ethnicities have their own names that are common, but a small set of name suffuse the human species.Human Name Generator
