Distance

The UTO uses a distance measuring system in the same vein as the metric system, with increments of 1000 for each new tier of measurement. The distance measuring system is known as the valen system. Due to its similarity to the metric system, increments of a thousand use the same combining terms when translated to human languages. Example: Centivalen, milivalen.
A valen is approximately equal to 12.331 meters, which means any combining form of a meter may be converted to a valen or vise versa through a simple equation.

Weight

The UTO uses a weight measuring system in the same vein as the metric system, with increments of 1000 for each new tier of measurement. The distance measuring system is known as the faarir system. Due to its similarity to the metric system, increments of a thousand use the same combining terms when translated to human languages. Example: Centifaarir, kilofaarir.
A faarir is approximately equal to 1874.398 grams, and may be converted to or from metric with a simple equation. However, unlike metric with the metric ton, the norm is for the faarir to continue into the larger prefixes - megafaarir, gigafaarir, ect.

Temperature

The standard unit of temperature is known as piasa. Like celsius, it uses water's freezing and boiling point for its 0 and 100, but due to the changing boiling points of environments, a piasa isn't exactly a celsius, at about 1.01775 times a celsius. However, it is close enough for the layman to be a 1:1 conversion.

Layman Conversion

Due to the significant difference in weights from human scale to nonhuman scale, it's still normal for humans to use their metric system. 'Guesstimating' what something human scaled would be at nonhuman scale is typically done by adding about a fourth of the metric height to itself to get its valen height, and halving the metric weight to get its equivalent faarir weight. The reverse is done by 'shaving off' a fourth of the valen height and doubling the faarir weight. This approximation is very loose and is not recommended for anything more important than guessing or amusing oneself with scaling up or down.
