Founded in 1916 as a gubernamental program to rearm the nation, Mare is a company based on building, repairing and modernizing warships.
History
First years
As the First World War started, many countries tried to consolidate a union between them and Yudonia, but the government published the Paper of Neutrality, by which the country would keep neutral in the war, and would only let ships repost if was really necessary. This Paper of Neutrality kept friends away, but enemies closer and closer, as Germany, which tried to invade Provenza. They managed to land, and something needed to be done. Yudonia signed peace with Germany, giving access to the norther island and approving the construction of the Schell Air Base near Provenza.Blue Armistice
The war was on its climax, in a point where no one could guess who was going to win, and the government of Yudonia decided to enter. It may sound stupid, but Yudonia accepted the term of an alliance with Germany. They were winning, and we were too! They offered protection, ships, factories... a general improvement in the already bad local economy. As always, days later the UK came in, offering peace, goods, protection, and a gift, payed in warships and planes just after the war concluded. Yudonia accepted, as 8 hours later, an entire Royal Fleet entered Yudonian waters and made an impressive power demonstration on the very first battle within Yudonian borders. The Battle of Peche
The sun was rising on the morning of June 6th, 1915, 7 warships were docked in the little port of Peche. In few words, they were completely annihilated by the British forces. The fleet managed to destroy them without killing a single Yudonian citizen. From there, the Blue Armistice was signed by both sides, accepting the British terms and officially entering the war. From that day until WW2, Mare built only 4 ships, but the company was about to be the biggest ship manufacturer in the country, as they were gifted by the UK with a huge payment, which the company had to use to to expand in case a second war started.WW2
As Yudonia signed peace with the allies, technology was given to shipyards, factories, and plane designers. This began an era of ship building in the country, as Mare managed to build almost 10 ships while the war was taking place. From there, Mare was the biggest ship building company that ever existed in the country, and so it is today.Until now
In total, Mare has built 36 Warships from the day WW1 started. Nowadays, Mare has a total of 5 dry docks, of which 2 are being used to build medium sized ships, other two to produce "cheap" destroyers and frigates, and the last one is starting the production of the very first Battleship produced in Yudonia.
