President of Colombia

The President of Colombia, officially the President of the Republic of Colombia (in Spanish "Presidente de la República de Colombia") is the head of state of the government of Colombia, as well as the person that represents all Federal Subjects of Colombia. The title of the President of Colombia was made to be a strong figure of order and unity with the Constitution of 1932, being made into a title to represent the leader of the people instead of a ceremonial representative, as it used to be before.

Requirements

After the constitution of 1932, it was established that to become a citizen eligible for the charge of president, a person would need to be at least 18 years old but less than 60, and have no symptoms of mental illnesses. In the constitution of 1932, it would also be established that for a citizen to become eligible for office, said citizen would need to be free of any heavy legal charges. It was also mentioned, but not specified, that the place of birth would necessarily need to be in Colombia, but this limitation could be avoided by having lived a combined amount of 20 years in Colombia.

Duties

The main duty of the President of Colombia, as stated within the Constitution of Colombia, is to

Defend, promote, encourage and support the unification of the Colombian people into the peaceful country of Colombia, if necessary by force, so the ideals with which it was founded may prosper through time

Other duties of the president include:

Lead the Colombian people towards victory and greatness
Protect the Colombian people through any methods necesary
Mantain social, political and cultural order within the limits of the nation of Colombia, as well as to bring prosperity to those whose conditions limit their abilities to do so
Defend the integrity and unity of the Colombian nation
Defend and pursue the interests of the Colombian people
Prepare the Colombian nation and its citizens for any threats that may come in the form of surprise attacks or total war, amongst others, so the integrity and honor of the nation prevails
Command the defense forces of Colombia, following the advice from the different Generals of the defense forces if seen necessary, or ignoring their advice if considered opportune
Defend and, if necessary, expand the borders of the Colombian nation to fulfill the needs and necessities of the Colombian people
