The Munchskin may look like a harmless wildflower at first glance but just one touch can be lethal. The mushroom is coated in a fine spore like powder that instantly get absorbed by the skin and start to spread throughout the body. One touch and the victim is paralyzed as the mushrooms flower petal like appendages close around the exposed body part, spreading upwards. To an onlooker, it looks like the Munchskin eats the skin of it's victim ,hence the name.
The reality is much more gruesome than that. The effect of the spores is not only paralyzation, within minutes from exposure the body of the vicitim starts to melt. Within 15 minutes what is left of the victim is a melted mess of a creature.
The quick course of events and spread of the spores ensures the victim dissolving near the Munchskin, providing nutrients to the soil. As with so many other mushrooms, the part you see is just the a small fraction of the whole entity, underneath the lure is a network of mycelium that greedily absorbs the nutrient boost from the melted victims.
