Ydbris

I am the paragon, the embodiment, of the newness of summer and spring. Of life and wind. I am also a celestial body that controls the tides and currents. I am the youngest twin of my father's first union. I was gifted with the power of cunning, knowledge, agriculture, and the high tides. Pledge your loyalty to me and you shall receive boons.
Serious followers of Ydbris are called Vár, a name given to represent the influence the goddess has over tidal currents and new life. These followers admire Ydbris for her cunning patience and love of knowledge.

Divine Domains

Seasons of summer and spring, life, and wind. I am also a celestial body that controls the tides and currents. Cunning, knowledge, agriculture, and the high tides.

New Life Spring and Summer

Ydbris embodies the themes of new life that follows periods of sleep and destruction. New growth from old wounds, flowers, new springs of water from an earthquake all from Ydbris.

Spring brings new life blessed by her half-sister, Ialdir, and summer continues seemingly forever, symbolizing adulthood and continued lifespan. Ydbris' personality seems softer and less rash than her twin, but in her patience is cunning and sometimes deciet. The goddess seems to have inherited some aloof qualities from her father.

Ydbris provides stability with blessings of sustained crop growth, warm weather, and steady wind to keep sailboats and windmills moving. It takes long-term thinking to project tide lines, plan a farm, or plant enough trees to sustain a woodmill. Such knowledge of planning is often saught after by the folk of Varuin and provided by the goddess for a price.

The goddess values the ability of her followers to make personal profits, be it through financial or other means.

Celestial Body Ydbris: High Tide

In a game of tug of war, Olris and Ydbris give and take the tides. High tides bring plant and sea life from the deep, often as offerings to predators or those who would snatch them up. Depending on the species and water depth in a particular area, fish may concentrate during ebb or flood tidal currents. Inhabitants of Vaeruin use the tides to determine when to send ships out from Ofrary or other ports.

The anticipation of high tide inspires planning and, oftentimes, smart avoidance.

Holy Books & Codes

Like Ialdir, the goddess Ydbris provides her words into written text. Though unlike her half-sister, the goddess of planning and knowledge does not seem to enjoy her words speckled here and there to be interpreted. Instead, Ydbris manifested a holy book she named The Várstara.

This holy book was revealed to a member of the Consortium of Atrary named Merlarel Yinfina, who has kept the text under her protection.

Depictions

Ydbris has six arms that hold a large circular celestial body, which is also apart of herself. She chooses not to present or limit herself as any particular race. Instead, she often takes the form of semi-translucent wind or a shadowed figure only just able to be discerned.
