Yumi was born to a poor Tiefling family in a small town. Yumi was always kind and giving no matter the situation for herself. Yumi believed in being kind to others and forgiving them for any misdeeds and overall she believed in the preservation of life. Yumi would work at a local healers as an apprentice to help the sick and injured, she would always lift their spirits no matter what. However one night a group of guards entered the town at first they seemed nice although needy and selfish but Yumi payed them no mind, they seemed to be looking for someone and all she heard was a Tiefling girl. However while walking home one night she heard the guard in a heated argument threatening if they don’t hand over the girl they’ll burn the place to the ground. Yumi was scared to ran back home and went to sleep. Yumi woke to the smell of smoke and the terrifying sounds of screams, she looked out her window to see a terrible scene. The guards had lit the town ablaze and where going house to house looking for people and those who didn’t match the description were killed slowly. She ran outside passing her house somewhat engulfed in flames. Her parents stand upon a pyre of wood, half elves stand holding torches. Her mother’s eyes meet her own and tell her to run just as they are set alight, the towns folk laughed as they writhed in pain. She tried to help the remaining townsfolk the best she could but to no avail, knowing she couldn’t do anything else she ran. Just before she reached the next town she collapsed and passed out. She dreamed of a falcon which she knew as the symbol for Freya, she told Yumi she would help her help those in need in return for becoming a cleric of hers.
