Church of the Dragon King
Mythology & Lore
The pillar of justice, protection, nobility, and honor, the Dragon King stands as a beacon to many paladins of order and good, and is revered by most metallic dragons as the first of their kind. The crest of the Dragon King adorns many halls of high leadership and justice, his will expected present at all just judgments. To follow him is to look after those who cannot look after themselves.
This majestic being is often seen emblazoned on shields and armor, both functional and decorative, in the form of a brilliant platinum dragon head in profile. Temples and art pieces present a massive, glittering dragon of vibrant platinum sheen and seemingly endless wingspan.
The Dragon King's holy day is called Flames Call, and is celebrated on the fifth day of the eleventh month. This is a day of remembrance, solemnity, and respect to those who have fallen in the defense of others.
Cosmological Views
According to the religion of the Dragon King, the world was created by the Dragon King himself, who fashioned it from the elements of the cosmos. The Dragon King is said to have imbued the world with his own divine power, and created all living beings to be stewards of his creation.
The religion holds that the world is divided into several realms, including the physical realm that is inhabited by humans and other mortal creatures, and the spiritual realm where the gods and goddesses reside. These realms are said to be interconnected and governed by the laws and will of the Dragon King.
The creation of the world is viewed as a sacred act, and the followers of the religion of the Dragon King believe that it is their duty to protect and preserve the world from harm. They view themselves as stewards of the land, and are expected to live in harmony with the natural world.
The Dragon King is also believed to have granted certain gifts and powers to the mortal creatures of the world, such as magic and the ability to create art and music. These gifts are seen as a way for mortals to connect with the divine and express their reverence and gratitude to the Dragon King.
