Composition

There are only four fingers at any given time in the world.

Equipment

The fingers where all black armor and cloaks that allow them to pass unseen through the shadows.

Weaponry

The Fingers use a custom pike made from iradanium, a near indestructible material. The pikes are imbued with magical properties to enhance their capabilities. The Fingers decide which type of magic that is imbued into the weapon.

Vehicles

If needed, the fingers will ride their fully armored horses to ride alongside the High Sovereigns carriage.

Structure

All four members of the fingers are considered equal. No one finger has more command power than the other. However, if the High Sovereign is in danger, three of the fingers will break off from the High Sovereign, while the fourth remains with the High Sovereign and assumes control over the fingers.

Tactics

Should the fingers ever be needed to defend the High Sovereign during a combat scenario, they will immediately form a diamond or square formation around the High Sovereign. Once the High Sovereign is secure, three of the fingers will break off from the secure location to defend the High Sovereign with their life. The finger who remains behind will continue leading the High Sovereign to safety and will lead the future fingers should the other three perish in battle.

Training

One most go through rigorous training to be considered for the position of a finger. The current fingers, have had numerous combat victories and have never lost a battle. They commanded legions of the Republic army and won many no-win scenarios.  The first task to becoming a finger is to show their full loyalty to the Republic and enter a vow of silence forever. Their training in interrogation resistance is unmatched and they would at the first chance take their own life then betray the Republic or the High Sovereign. Secondly, their skills in hand-to-hand, ranged, and melee combat must be at the most elite level.

History

The Fingers were first created during the First Age when the High Sovereign needed an elite group to protect him. He called upon the most powerful generals of the Republic Army to test them on their level of loyalty. The first four Fingers were so loyal to the High Sovereign that their first act was to cut out their tongues to ensure their silence. Since then, the Fingers have been the most looked up to group within the Republic given their loyalty to the Republic and the High Sovereign. If you see the High Sovereign alone, he is more than likely being followed by the Fingers in the shadows, ever watching their leader and protecting him from any threats.
