The Torverath Institute of Health (TIH) is the preeminent medical research facility and healer's university in all of Wennovi.
Located in the heart of Torverath, the institute is the largest of its kind, working directly with the Torvae Temple and occupying several blocks of the city center.

The sprawling institute hires many healers, surgeons, educators, and many nomas positions such as nurses, janitors, gardeners, security, and more. It is the largest employer in the city-state.
Graduates of TIH often have no trouble finding jobs in Torverath and Salaris.

Facilities

While serving as an education and research faciltiy, the Torverath Institute of Health is also an operating healthcare facility, complete with emergency care as well as sections devoted to longer-term convalescence.

TIH also maintains its own gardens, some for therapy and healing uses, and others as public green spaces. Additionally, the institute has its own private, gated garden where it grows Temple Guardian to be used in the production of healing salve as well as other uses and research.

History

Commissioned by the Imbrianus emperor during the Wennovian Era, construction on the Imbrian Institute of Health began well before Torverath was established as a city-state.
Its sprawling, ornate design was meant to symbolize the great importance Imbrianus placed on the people, the goddess Torva, the healing arts, and the advancement of magic and education. Construction was completed in -147 WE, but the sense of good will it instilled in the people would only last for so long.
After the Great Uprising and the formation of the city-state, the instute's name changed to the Torverath Institute of Health. It has been in operation for over 1,000 years.

Other healing clinics, universities, and research facilities exist in Torverath and Salaris. However, none are as old, well-funded, and rooted in tradition as TIH.
To their dismay, these other organizations are always compared to TIH, and struggle to attract witches with the highest skills and magic talent.
