The Mannered Bear
The Mannered Bear is a favorite of Billiam Seacrest, who had a customized hook designed to hold his drinks!
The Mannered Bear is the sole tavern in the village of Scabberdale. Humbly furnished, the inn is a popular choice for riverboaters on their way to Briarwood. Small crews of halfling traders and salty sailors can often be found within, resting up for the final leg of their journeys. The menu, once populated only by fish stews and clam chowders, now boasts a surprising variety of exotic dragonborn cuisine as well as Witches Brew, the latter of which was once exclusively sold at Bristlebeard southeast of the village.
Much like Señor Salazar's down the street, the Mannered Bear is experiencing something of a rennaissance, which has not gone unnoticed by the River Rhynn's boat traffic. Inspired by an uptick in recent business, the inn has recently commissioned a brand new sign featuring a hand-carved bear, distinguished with a monocle.
Architecture
The building features rustic, cabin-esque construction with sturdy countertops and heavy chairs. Low hanging torch rings produce a warm, cozy glow in addition to the large central fireplace.
History
Once a favored watering hole during the town's silver-rush heyday, the Mannered Bear now serves mostly fishermen and riverboaters.
Tourism
Despite the tavern's decline after the mine dried up, the Mannered Bear seems to be experiencing a revival of sorts due to lucrative deals with up-and-coming local businesses.
