Tinkerjin Gnomes

A group of gnomes suspected of living within the desert before the Great Calamity. This group of gnomes worked closely with the Thunderfist dwarves to bring to life clockwork machines great and small. Their true name has been lost to history however there have been records recovered from old dwarven mines noting a group of gnomes who could work magic through metal.
These Gnomes evidently through the discoveries of Explore the Greensward Bluff Catacombs Quest did exist and were the creators of the The Spire, The Chamber of the First Flame, and the Soulbound research lab and attached power plant.  Where they went is still a mystery.
The party uncovered records from two prominent members: a Doctor Crankswell, added late to the soulbound project.  He states his distaste for the project and even more so at the council's decision to instead of eliminating the trapped souls simply to put them into stasis for another attempt at a later date.  The second, Architect Ramsbottom, who oversaw the construction of the Chamber of the First Flame.  His journal included references to working with Holly Hamapus as well as other gnomes about the construction of the trials to be placed within.
