Vanadis Peak
Vanadis Peak sits at the Westernmost edge of the Verrat Mountains. Carved into it's precipice is the face of a woman the snow making her hair and long frozen waterfalls make her appear to be sobbing. At it's base a small lake, Murat Sayida, is perpetually calm and frigid to the touch. She faces the desert and legends say that she awaits a long lost love and will keep their home protected until they return.
None know where who carved the face there, not even The Order. Bard's ascribe it to Shelyn, gracing the earth with her gifts, the founder of Fewmon thought she was Serenrae, mother's of lost loved ones think it's Pharasma. All agree it represents something tragic and a proof that even while we can hold that sorrow for the rest of our lives we must continue to stand strong.
If only the view from afar, a pristine but tragic beauty, matched it's dangerous slopes. Murat Sayida is calm and must remain so for any disturbance will bring a silent and inevitable death. The southern banks of the lake are littered with bones of a battle long forgotten culminating at a stone archway which signifies the only path to the peak of this mountain. Every step toward the top is marred by claw and steel. During the day you find some respite from the evils that dwell within the mountain, but come nightfall the bones of the dead rise and wander the slopes, locked in endless conflict.
With the exception of a single member of an adventuring party that attempted to discover the cause of this nightly ritual, none have ever returned, and the one who did did so under questionable circumstances. All that's known is there is something purely evil driving these things and that none can hope to summit the mountain to learn more of it's sculptor.
