The Cobalt Band

Traditionally worn by the highest ranking female member of The Royal Family, be that the ruling Queen or the wife of the King. Less ostentatious than much of the crown jewels and jewellery, the Cobalt Band is a rather nondescript ring of silver, inlaid with twisting cobalt blue smalt glass, which gives it its' name.   The ring dates back to the reign of King Terence Enarren, who ruled The Kingdom of Vallanna from 870 AoU until his death in 901 AoU. Shortly after the death of his wife, Queen Verity, the King undertook a royal visit to the southern city of Serenal. The ring was picked out from the wares of a visiting dwarven trader by the young Princess Camilla, and the King, reminded of the blue of his wife's eyes in the twisting blue bands of the ring, bought it for the young princess as a keepsake.   Princess Camilla would wear the ring all through her life, even throughout her reign as Queen Camilla, following her father's passing. Following her reign, the ring was passed down through the generations of the Enarren family, becoming an heirloom which was worn by the female head of the family. It is currently worn by Queen Eryn Enarren, and has been in her possession since the coronation of her husband King Aegic Enarren.
