The Great Sirith-Dûn Tunnel
Just over twelve miles in length, and running beneath a span of the southern Silverpeak Mountains, the Great Sirith-Dûn Tunnel was constructed by the Dwarves to allow uninterrupted river travel along the Sirith-dûn River as it passes beneath the mountains. The construction of the tunnel, along the natural course of the river, put an end to centuries of lengthy overland detours needed to reach the lower waters of the river and the Sea of Vallar.
Architecture
The tunnel has been constructed in the grand geometric style, common to many Dwarven structures in the region. Right angles and bold shapes have been hewn from the stone of the mountains into an ordered, uniform tunnel.
