Big Mule
Ah, let me show you a little surprise. Right here, in my hangar, said Jackie, as he turned the last of eight locks lining the edges of a sturdy metal door. Jackie walked into the void, pulling down a sturdy switch, and turning a handle 90 degrees clockwise. Above these, he flicked three switches into position, each lighting a green light above them. With a jolt, the roof began to move, drifting open along rusted rails. Pale moonlight shone through the widening crack from the midnight's full moon, illuminating the hangar. Now this is a little ship. A pleasure craft, so to speak.... I call her, Big Mule!.
The adventurers gasped, and beheld the magnificent craft. The ship's 50-foot long hull shone in the light, reflecting perfectly off the intricately polished planks which ran uninterrupted from deck to keel, but for a pair of small steel exhaust tubes let out near the hull's rear. In front of the adventurers fell a simple rope ladder 20 feet long, hung over the whitewashed rails and onto the 15-foot wide deck. At the third points of the ship, two masts sprung up from the deck, bearing delicate sails of linen sewn through with copper wire to conduct the Kalarol's magic and hold the ship aloft. The taller, aft mast, 30 feet high, rose to the crow's nest, which bore a small room bounded by a narrow catwalk. At the front of the ship, the deck rose, and where it ended, a smiling mule sat carved into the woodwork. At the rear, the deck rose to the bridge, which, unlike the simplicity of the deck, burgeoned with levers, switches, dials and cables, each trying to burst through the cockpit window. Below deck, machinery hummed, the engine ready for take off.
