Camp at Greycott
The Valorian Knights' primary training ground, where young recruits are forged into knights worthy of the name.
Located a short distance from the Greycott fishing village, the camp often smells strongly of fish and brine. It is surrounded by low hills, fields too rocky to farm, and weeds. A rough, overgrown path leads to the village and its small harbor. The only visitors to the area, besides the trainee knights and their overseers, are birds and the occasional fox.
Purpose / Function
Once applicants to the Valorian Knights have passed the initial trials, and any necessary arrangements have been made with their guilds, they are shipped out to the Camp at Greycott. This location was specifically chosen to be easily accessible via Lake Damerel, yet still feel remote and cut off from everyone the recruits had known before. Unless a trainee is from Greycott itself (unlikely), they are sure to feel very far from home.
Architecture
Built of local stone and cheap wood from the western portion of Valor, the Camp at Greycott is as austere as its surroundings. However, despite how it might appear at first, the camp is neither cheaply built nor careless of its inhabitants' comfort. The simple structures are all well sealed against drafts and damp, the rooms are plainly furnished but meet every need, and there is a place for everything.
