Vastein

Vastein is the Lord of Dairmagan. Son of Taras, the God of War.   At Vastein's birth it was prophesied by The Scribe that he would suffer a tragic death a nd offered three warnings:
The Son of War will die.
From he with golden dragon blood,
from he with steel of Einhart,
from he who walks at night.
Taras attempted to prevent these circumstances from occuring, making himself the only man in Valoth that possessed golden dragon blood and the steel from Einhart mine. Taras forged a dagger out of the Einhart steel and coated it in golden dragon blood, a mighty weapon to fend off attackers that sought to kill his son. In the middle of the night, Taras heard the door open suddenly, believing it to be an intruder he struck with deadly precision using the dagger. It was only after he heard the piercing scream he realised he had not killed an intruder but his son, who had come home late in the night. Taras tried everything to save his son, but it was too late.   Vastein descended into Dairmagan - the first God to do so. He became the Lord of the Underworld, and continues to rule over the realm. The Judge commanded that Taras be punished for his crime, and that Vastein must set three trials as punishment.   Vastein commanded his father to climb the highest mountain in all the realms and to kill the mighty bear of Gelacad. Finally, Vastein commanded his father to tell the truth as to why he murdered his son - expecting his father to admit the murder was intentional. Much to Vastein's surprise, Taras explained how he was attempting to save his son. Vastein realised his father's true intentions and forgave him.
