Orykta

A misbegotten creature, tall of stature and lanky the unholy spawn appear as part man with rabbit in them. While a rare sighted being, they are reported to appear in bedrooms of those on the verge of sleep. They stand, staring at them from the foot of the bed, or beside the pillow, pacing, leaning uncomfortably close to the victims face. The ultimate attention seeker, if the victim acknowledges that they have seen the creature it will never leave. If the would be victim refuses to acknowledge its presence the creature will eventually get bored and look for a better target.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Their bone structure is very similar to that of elves, though their upper bodies are covered in splotches of fur. Their heads are disproportionately small, and their human like eyes jut out. Their elbow joints are inverted.

Biological Traits

The average creature stands at 6 and a half feet, and is depicted as being extremely malnourished.

Behaviour

Never seen around others of its species in groups larger than three, they wander around curiously looking through others belongings.

Facial characteristics

The hair on their faces are often clumped around the mouth area. Their unblinking, human like eyes bulge out.

Naming Traditions

It is unknown if they have names, though the victim will often refer to them after a race of unkind fairies the Orykta, or other more profane terms.

History

One of several creatures that took form during the eclipse, they differ from most of their kin. Unlike most of the other creatures that found life during that time, they are neither violent nor truly malicious. They are simply bored, and want someone to entertain them.   Their sightings were far less common than their kin. Many who have heard of them believe them to have been fairies caught in the darkness and warped with similar creatures.

Most are pure white, though some are shades of brown.
