The Brewers Faire
A popular summer tradition is the brewers fair. On the longest day of the year, dozens of small taverns, inns, and Dwarven brewers meet in open fields for revelry and crazed dancing. There are several competitions involving physical and artistic skills, which take place after the most important competition; a brew off between all the tavern keepers. The design of their cups, the dyes and the presentation of the drinks are judged by a small table of judges, and by the vote of the drinkers. The Red Fox Inn has been the champions for the last two summers.
The competitions following the judging of the ale are played by the patrons of the inns and taverns, teams of friends competing for small earnings and bragging rights. The players show the colors of their taverns, by using colorful powders, though these are so mixed by the end of the games, no one truly knows who the victors are.
History
The origins of the game are unknown, though it is believed to have been introduced after the end of a war between neighbouring nations. It is a symbolic tradition of peace and unity in drink and merriment.
Execution
The festival takes place in three parts. The first competition is where the tavern keeps and with the help of any assistants they have prepare three drinks, respecting the other elements, the other seasons. These are judged and distributed among the players.
The next set of competitions are physical, exhausting the players. Boulder tossing, mock jousts, and wrestling is common. As the sun rises to its highest, the challenges become more art based. Sculpting, painting, and even rhyming are played, though by this time most contestants are unable to do a great deal, and most of their creations are quite humorous to behold.
Finally, at the end of the revelry, the contestants are treated to a great feast by the hosting taverns. The feast often lasts deep into the night, the contestants only leaving in the morning.
This is fun :))
