Elvric Emberbasher

Viscount Elvric Emberbasher was born and raised in the Mountain District of Highburg. Born to wealthy parents, his upbringing kept him secluded from the world at large, though he was educated in Academia. His parents spoke poorly of the filth of the city at large, attributing the crime and grime to the immigrants from other regions of Astagua. According to them, if Marka had seceded from The Unified Council following the first war, things could have returned to the glory experienced by his grandparents.
This perverse line of thinking did a number of Elvric's ability to form his own opinions of matters concerning the social and economic climates of not only Highburg but Marka at large; in any case, he proved to be a saavy businessman and took the wealth inherited from his parents and more than quadrupled it. His intimacy to the complex political environment of aristocracy enabled him to leverage relationships - and blackmail - to his benefit.
Marka's electoral process generally involves a council of representatives from each town and city to select the best of them to represent Marka in The Unified Council; Elvric's dealings over the last decade ensured he would be victorious.
Elvric's approach to Astaguan politics has been a horrifying reflection of his upbringing, and his work with Count Xoruk Goldtooth of Aymaq has weakened The Unified Council's strength to new lows. If things go according to plan for Elvric, it won't be long before the dissolution of not only the council, but of Astagua as well.
Note: Since Count Emberbasher has been deemed 'missing' since 12 Ches, 864 2E, the beloved "Prince of the High Keep", Mel Holgrik, has been acting in his stead.
