Iaakas (ee-yok-us)

Isolated from the rest of Astagua, Iaakas rests against the coast of the Crossroads Ocean to the southeast of Rustwood. Featuring bizarre, abberant architecture and cuisines, it is as alien a locale as the Feywild. With the nearest town, Frosthaven, being well over 100 miles away by road, it is a seldom visited - or departed - town.
Further alienating Iaakas from the rest of Astagua is the disposition of the Iaak who reside there. They seldom open their doors for visitors, only doing so if the guests are in dire need of assistance. Conversations are kept brief and impersonal, and any help offered tends to be directions or a way out of town. Most people assume the Iaak's behavior rude, though the culturally-experienced Iaak of Felhook suggest they are simply preoccupied.
What it is they're preoccupied with, they won't say. Peculiar as that is in and of itself, it's also strange that the townsfolk of Iaak are all elderly.
