Kumir Fluff Hamsters may look adorable, but they are extremely dangerous. They're small rodents with a luxurious and long coat of fur that keeps them warm on the cold mountain cliff faces in northern Kos. However, they shouldn't be touched because each hair is barbed and laced with a drop of toxin. When brushed against bare skin, the barbs will cling to the skin and be shed, and that injects the toxin which causes painful and itchy rashes. Because the hairs are so fine, it's difficult to find and remove them. They're named because their fur is the same milky white color as Kumir Fluff, a plant that sheds its seeds with a fluff to help it travel on the wind.
