Tetian
Men with Cheeks Aflame
The Island of Tete is a uniquely magical island that lays on the eastern edge of the Relics of Boryen, in the Bory Ocean. The Tetian is a hot-blooded resident of this lonely island. He is also a tribal person, aligned to one of many feuding clans tentatively united under the watch of a High King — but is more often than not bitterly fighting against his fellow man. But the Tetian is not only a fighter. Out of the Tetian stock has come some of the finest writers, scholars, poets, and Wizards of our time. Also, they are of close blood relation to the Nelqorana. So they are a sturdy people. And the strange magic of the isle has made them neighbors to many strange and fantastic creatures.
The average Tetian is of great height, standing at about 5'8ft. They are characterized by a muscular stature, a long face and skull, a narrow and projected nose turned up at the end, high cheekbones, full and domed foreheads, narrow lips, and fine teeth. The Tetian's hair is usually brown like the new-turned earth. Black hair is also common. Flaxen hair is rare. Their eyes are colored with lighter shades, blue being the most common. Among the Tetians there is a rare occurrence, happening on auspicious births, where a child is born with multiple pupils in their eyes. Called Royal Eyes, these children are believed to be destined for greater glories. The most common instance is two pupils in each eye, though more is not unheard of.
A decade ago, the Tetians petitioned the Empire of Juraedon for national freedom. The Northern Empire granted the request after some debate.
The Philosopher continued “Most of the races of the world have at one time or another been visited by this deity, whose title is the ‘Great God Pan,’ but there is no record of his ever having journeyed to Ireland, and, certainly within historic times, he has not set foot on these shores.
